Engineer/Music Producer/Remixer
Over the past 20+ years Chris aka TheisMix has assembled a long list of credits including projects by Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Marc Cohn, Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Santana, DMX, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Swizz Beats, Shakira, Vivian Green, Coheed and Cambria, Lenny Kravitz and R.Kelly.
He won Grammys for Album of the Year in 1998 and 1999.
Growing up in a suburb of Minneapolis Chris started working with computers and electronics early in high school using Atari PC's and Teac 4 track tape machines. After high school he left for New York City and the Institute of Audio Research. After graduating he started his first job at Quad Recording in Times Square. Working with 2 inch analog tape and SSL and Neve consoles.
Digital Recording was just starting to become popular around the time he left Quad for Sony Music Studios in 1993. Still working in the analog domain Chris became a Senior Engineer at Sony and stayed on the staff until 2004 as the DAW started to replace the tape machines and consoles.
After going freelance in 2004 he worked at Sony, The Hit Factory, Avatar, Sound on Sound and Edison.
After most of the big studios in NYC closed he started working at his own DAW based studio in New Jersey and at Waterfront Studio in Hudson NY.
He continues to mix and master as TheisMix as well as produce projects and create remixes.
